Message from the 2025 MSMUN Secretariat
Honourable chairs, fellow delegates, distinguished directors, and most esteemed guests,
It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the 6th annual MSMUN@East conference, dedicated to our theme of “Pillars of Peace”. We are honoured to serve as your secretariat for this event, and look forward to seeing everyone this coming February.
In the current day, we see conflict erupting globally. From the Middle East crisis, to the territorial disputes in Eastern Europe, the world needs to establish harmony globally, harmony that is best exemplified by our topic; “Pillars of Peace”. Whilst this is, for many, just an MUN conference, it is crucial to understand that the Middle Schoolers delegating at this conference are at the forefront of the next generation. Hence this conference, through its theme, will work as stepping stones towards inspiring the next generation to use their future power for good. For change. For peace.
So how can this peace be achieved? The answer is simple: Collaboration. This is seen between the skilled chairs who have volunteered for this conference, the honourable directors coming from schools across south east asia and the delegates, who will unite to debate the worlds most significant global issues. This is the same collaboration that will need to be carried forwards to our rapidly developing world, whether it be NATO, the EU, ASEAN or the UN itself, a collaborative group of nations will always win above one. Hence we urge delegates to consider this when they come to our conference, as through collaboration, peace, unity and equity, as well as, of course, some fun debate, this conference will undoubtedly be one to remember.
So hope for a great sea-change, hope that these delegates will bring the longed for tidal wave of peace that the world needs. For today, we see conflict arising globally, so tomorrow, believe that the further shore is reachable from here, believe in the miracles that the future generation can and will bring. And believe that this conference will spark that change; through debate, solutions and most importantly: peace.
With this in mind, we can’t wait to see everyone soon.
