DISCLAIMER:
Dear delegates, We hope you are looking forward to an enlightening and fruitful weekend of debate. As members of the Arab League, we want to clarify and reiterate Motion #1: Addressing Humanitarian Needs and Political Solutions in Gaza and the West Bank. Any and all discussion around 'political solutions' has been removed from the motion and accompanying conference documents. We apologise for this late, but necessary, slight modification.
Our official position:
As delegates in the Arab League Committee, you are reminded that the focus of this debate is solely on formulating humanitarian solutions to alleviate the suffering of individuals in the region. The discussion must centre on concrete actions the Arab League can collectively take to address the immediate needs of those affected by ongoing situations, including the provision of aid, medical support, infrastructure repair, and protection of civilian lives. Given the sensitive, timely, and complex nature of the broader regional context, this committee will not engage in discussions regarding the premise or causes of the conflict, including assigning blame. This committee's objective is to work toward humanitarian assistance and solutions that uphold the dignity and safety of affected civilians, devoid of political, military, or ideological bias. In the spirit of the UN, delegates are expected to approach the topic with respect, civility, and a humanitarian focus.
Thank you in advance for treating the topic with the sensitivity and maturity that is expected in MUN.
